3. Select Office Mode in the Mode list. See "Changing the Scan Mode" on page 22 for
instructions.
4. Select Color, Grayscale, or Black&White as the Image Type setting.
Note:
If you select Grayscale or Black&White, you can also select an Image Option setting, as
described below.

5. Select Document Table as the Document Source setting.
6. Select the size of your original document as the Size setting.
7. Click the arrow to open the Resolution list and select an appropriate resolution for your
original(s). See "Selecting the Scan Resolution" on page 32 for instructions.
8. Click Preview to preview your image(s). The Preview window appears and displays
your image(s). See "Previewing and Adjusting the Scan Area" on page 34 for
instructions.
9. Modify the image quality if necessary. See "Adjusting the Color and Other Image
Settings" on page 39 for instructions.
10. Click Scan.
Description
No Image Option setting is applied.
Drops out red from the scan.
Drops out green from the scan.
Drops out blue from the scan.
Enhances red in the scan.
Enhances green in the scan.
Enhances blue in the scan.
Improves accuracy during OCR
(Optical Character Recognition)
scanning by eliminating the
document's background from the
scan. This setting is available only
when the Image Type is set to
Black&White.
Makes grayscale images clearer and
text recognition more accurate by
separating the text from the graphics.
