BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
For information about setting the diagnostic mode, refer to "DIAGNOSTIC MODE (ECU)" on page 8-38.

TROUBLESHOOTING DETAILS (SCU)
This section describes the measures per fault code number displayed on the multi-function meter right
display. Check and service the items or components that are the probable cause of the malfunction fol-
lowing the order given.
After the check and service of the malfunctioning part has been completed, reset the multi-function
meter right display according to the "Confirmation of service completion".
Fault code No.:
Fault code number displayed on the multi-function meter right display when the electronically adjust-
able suspension system failed to work normally.
Diagnostic code No.:
Diagnostic code number to be used when the diagnostic mode is operated. Refer to "DIAGNOSTIC
MODE (ECU)" on page 8-38.
TIP
After the malfunction is repaired and the preload is adjusted, fault code Nos. 50, 89, and 94 may not
disappear if the main switch is turned to "ON" within approximately 6 minutes after the rear shock ab-
sorber assembly DC motor stops. If this occurs, turn the main switch to "OFF", wait approximately 6
minutes, and then turn the main switch to "ON".

When completed successfully:
"00" is displayed in the multi-function meter right display and the
electronically adjustable suspension system warning light goes off.
The preload is adjusted to the solo-riding position.
When not completed successfully:
"F0" is displayed in the multi-function meter right display and the
electronically adjustable suspension system warning light remains
on. Remove the rear shock absorber assembly DC motor and ad-
just it by hand.
After adjusting the DC motor, perform the procedure for diagnostic
code No. 84 again. If "F0" is displayed again, replace the rear
shock absorber assembly.
To adjust the preload home position, simultaneously press the
"TCS" button and "RESET" button for 2 seconds.
Maintenance job
Turn the main switch to
"OFF".
