Checking the basic position of the shift lever

Info
When driving, the shift lever must not touch the rider's boot when in the basic position.
When the shift lever keeps touching the boot, the transmission will be subject to an excessive load.

Adjusting the basic position of the shift lever

Danger
Danger of poisoning Exhaust gases are toxic and inhaling them may
result in unconsciousness and/or death.
Allow the vehicle to idle.
The MIL stops flashing once teaching is completed.

If the engine becomes too hot, perform a cool-down ride at medium revs.
Then do not switch off the engine after this, but leave it running at idle
speed until teaching is completed.
Sit on the vehicle in the riding position and determine distance
upper edge of your boot and the shift lever.
