2-16 Server Installation Overview

To remove the server cover:
1. If the computer is on, turn it off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Disconnect any other external equipment connected to the computer.
3. Release the server's front bezel from the front of the rack by unfastening
the left-most thumb screw from the cage nut.
4. Remove the server from the rack and place on a secure table or work
bench.
5. Remove the two thumb screws on the rear of the unit.
6. Slide the server cover toward the rear of the unit about 1 inch (2.5cm);
then lift the cover up off the unit.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the server
you must support the server when either loading or unloading it from the
rack. The ProLiant 850R server is not attached to the Support Rails of the
rack and may fall if not supported when extended from the rack.
