Manifold Needle Valves Replacement

NOTE: This service procedure may be done with the
gun installed on the production line.
WARNING
INJECTION AND HOT MATERIAL
HAZARDS
To reduce the risk of serious injury from
fluid injection or contact with hot material:
Lock the piston rod safety whenever you stop
dispensing.
Close the fluid manifold needle valves
completely with the nut driver provided before
servicing the gun; this will isolate the fluid pres-
sure in the manifold and fluid hose.
1. Lock the piston rod safety (C) and close the fluid
manifold needle valves (3a) with the nut driver
(49). See Fig. 48.
2. Loosen the one fluid manifold screw (3b) and dis-
connect the manifold (3) from the nozzle head (4)
with the 3/16" hex wrench (47). See Fig. 46,
page 29.
3. Relieve the system pressures as instructed in the
Graco Shot Foam System manual.

HAZARDS
To reduce the risk of serious injury from
fluid injection or contact with hot materi-
al, relieve the system pressures as instructed in the
Graco Shot Foam System manual before removing
the ISO or RES supply lines or servicing the man-
ifold or the needle valves.
4. Use an adjustable wrench to unscrew the faulty
needle valve(s) (3a) from the manifold. See Fig.
49.
Service
5. Install the new needle valve(s) (3a) and torque to
80 to 120 in-lb (9 to 13.6 N m).
6. Close the needle valves (3a) completely with the
nut driver (49). See Fig. 48.
Turn clockwise to close needle valve.
Turn counterclockwise to open needle valve.
