Receptacle Assembly

WARNING
INJECTION, FIRE, EXPLOSION, AND
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARDS
Replace the receptacle assembly (2b)
whenever any visible damage occurs to
any portion of this assembly. A damaged
receptacle assembly could cause a short
in the electrical wiring and result in acci-
dental triggering of the gun. Damage
could also cause a loss of grounding
continuity which could result in a fire,
explosion or electric shock.
NOTE: A Repair Kit, part no. 237–621, is available.
See page 33.
1. Remove the gun from the production line as
instructed on page 18.
2. Remove the screws (39) and the cover (2a) from
the back of the gun. See Fig. 28.
NOTE: Removing the cover will unplug the trigger
switch electrical connector (Q) and may cause the
spool return spring (7a) to fall out of place.
3. Remove the ground screw (2e) and lock washer
(2d) to disconnect the ground wire eyelet (N) from
the cover. See Fig. 30.
4. Disconnect the solenoid connectors (J).
5. Unscrew the receptacle (2b), using a 9/16" socket,
and remove it from the cover, guiding the attached
wires through the port.
6. Insert the wires of the new receptacle (2b) through
the port and screw the receptacle into the cover.
Align the receptacle so the electric cable will point
down when it is attached.
CAUTION
The receptacle must be properly aligned so the
electric cable will point down when it is attached,
which will allow the shield to be properly secured to
the cover to protect the electrical connection.
7. Connect the solenoid connectors (J). See Fig. 31.
NOTE: One connector lead is longer for easier
connection to the farthest contact.
Service
8. Securely fasten the ground wire eyelet (N) to the
cover (2a) with the lock washer (2d) and ground
screw (2e). See Fig. 30 and 31.
FIRE, EXPLOSION, AND ELECTRIC
SHOCK HAZARD
To reduce the risk of fire, explosion or
electric shock, which can be caused by
improper grounding, securely fasten the
ground wire eyelet (N) to the cover (2a).
9. Assemble the gun as instructed on page 28 if no
further maintenance or service is required.
