Air Valve Piston Assembly

WARNING
INJECTION AND HOT MATERIAL
HAZARDS
The piston and spool o-rings must be
lubricated approximately every 100,000
cycles to reduce the risk of piston failure. If the fail-
ure occurs when the gun is triggered, fluid may
continue to flow, which could cause serious injury
or property damage.
NOTE: A Repair Kit, part no. 237–618, is available.
See page 33.
1. Remove the gun from the production line as
instructed on page 18.
2. Remove the screws (39) and the cover (2a) from
the back of the gun. See Fig. 32.
NOTE: Removing the cover will unplug the trigger
switch electrical connector (Q) and may cause the
spool return spring (7a) to fall out of place.
3. Unlock the piston rod safety (C).
4. Remove the air valve piston assembly (P), using
the piston removal tool (BB) to push it out the back
of the gun. Be careful not to gouge the inside walls
of the gun. See Fig. 33.

NOTE: The internal piston o-rings should be inspected
every 1 to 1.5 million cycles. See page 23.
6. If no further service is required, go to step 12,
page 23, to reinstall the piston assembly.
