Removing the Gun from the Production Line

NOTE: The gun must be removed from the production
line for most service procedures.
See page 33 to order repair kits.
WARNING
INJECTION AND HOT MATERIAL
HAZARDS
To reduce the risk of serious injury from
fluid injection or contact with hot material:
Lock the piston rod safety whenever you stop
dispensing.
Close the fluid manifold needle valves
completely with the nut driver provided before
servicing the gun; this will isolate the fluid pres-
sure in the manifold and fluid hose.
1. Lock the piston rod safety (C) and close the fluid
manifold needle valves (3a) with the nut driver
(49). See Fig. 24.
2. Turn off the air supply to the gun and bleed off the
air pressure.
3. Remove the screw (52) and shield (51). Set them
aside to reinstall when the gun is installed back on
the production line.
4. Remove the air hose (B) from the gun.
5. Remove the electric cable (A) from the gun.
NOTE: You have two options for disconnecting the gun
from the fluid supply:
Disconnect the nozzle head assembly from the gun
and leave it connected to the manifold, then re-
move the gun body from the production line. Fluid
pressure will be isolated in the nozzle head, man-
ifold, and fluid hose.
Disconnect the manifold from the nozzle head and
remove the gun body and nozzle head assembly
from the production line. Fluid pressure will be iso-
lated in the manifold and fluid hose. This is the pro -
cedure that follows.

6. To disconnect the gun body and nozzle head
