Needle/Nozzle Assembly Repair or
Replacement (continued)
30. Tighten the two nozzle head screws (4e) to 4.5 to
6.5 ft-lb (6.1 to 8.8 N m). See Fig. 19.
WARNING
INJECTION AND HOT MATERIAL
HAZARDS
To avoid serious injury and property
damage, be sure the two nozzle head
screws (4e) are properly tightened to 4.5 to 6.5 ft-lb
(6.1 to 8.8 N m). Failure to tighten the screws will
cause the gun to fail open.
31. Inspect the fluid manifold (3) ports to make sure
they are clean. Install the fluid manifold (3) onto
the nozzle head (4). Torque the manifold screw
(3b) to 40 in-lb (4.52 N m).
32. Open the fluid manifold needle valve (3a) for the
RES side first, then open the ISO side. See
Fig. 20.
CAUTION
When opening the fluid manifold needle valves
(3a), open the RES side first, then open the ISO
side. Be sure both the needle valves are fully open
before triggering the gun. This will help avoid
material cross-over.

Air Valve Piston and Spool Maintenance

Lubricate the air valve piston and spool o-rings with
lithium grease after approximately 100,000 cycles. See
pages 22 to 25 to disassemble and service the piston
and spool.
WARNING
INJECTION AND HOT MATERIAL
HAZARDS
The piston and spool o-rings must be
lubricated approximately every 100,000
cycles to reduce the risk of piston failure. If the fail-
ure occurs when the gun is triggered, fluid may
continue to flow, which could cause serious injury
or property damage.
