5. Insert the quick-disconnect hook (50) into the slot
on the gun body neck. Hook the quick-disconnect
sleeve, and pull it back toward the rear of the gun
while you remove the nozzle head assembly (4, 5).
See Fig. 10.
NOTE: You must use the quick-disconnect tool to
disconnect the needle from the piston rod before
you can remove the nozzle head assembly.
6. Remove and retain the thermal spacer (16). See
Fig. 11.
7. Take the nozzle head assembly (4, 5) to a flushing
station for cleaning. See the flushing procedure in
the Graco Shot Foam System manual for specific
flushing instructions.
NOTE: The gun body can remain on the produc-
tion line if no foam buildup is visible on the piston.
If there is buildup, remove the gun from the pro-
duction line, as instructed on page 18, and clean it.
8. Remove the nozzle retainer (5b). See Fig. 12.
9. Press the needle/nozzle assembly (5) out of the
nozzle head (4). Clean the nozzle head thoroughly.
Be careful not to damage any sealing surfaces.
10. If you are replacing the complete needle/nozzle
assembly (5), continue with step 22, page 13. If
you are using the needle/nozzle kit to repair the
needle/nozzle assembly, continued with step 11 on
page 12.
