8-2. Adjusting the timing between the needle and the blade point of hook

Put the sewing machine in the hook timing adjustment mode.
Loosen bed cover setscrews ❶ to remove bed cover ❷ .

Loosen hook driving shaft set collar clamp screw ❸ .

Remove rubber cap ❽ .
4)
Insert positioning pin ❾ into the slot in the counterweight.

In the state described in 5), align blade point ❹ of the hook with the center of needle ❺ , and tighten

hook driving shaft set collar clamping screw ❸ . At this time, a clearance of 1.5 mm is provided be-
tween the blade point of the hook and the top end of the needle eyelet.
Loosen setscrews ❻ and ❼ of the hook driving shaft saddle on the top face of the bed. Adjust the clear-

ance between the blade point of the hook and the needle to 0.05 to 0.1 mm by moving the hook driving
shaft saddle to the right or left to change its position. Then, tighten setscrews ❻ and ❼ .
Draw out positioning pin ❾ .

Attach rubber cap ❽ .
