Caution

A general digital I/O device can stop operating at any time due to control box power cut-off,
detection of an error from self-diagnostics and the task program settings. Therefore, be sure to
perform a risk assessment before configuring robot working cells. If the result of a risk
assessment shows additional elements of risks such as falling of a work piece after digital output
turn-off, stoppage, disregard of digital input, mistakenly generated synchronization errors and so
on, please perform additional safety measures.

Because the general digital I/O is a single-connection type, even a single disconnection, short
circuit, or component failure can result in a loss of the product's safety features. Therefore, the
general digital I/O cannot be used for safety purposes. If you need a safety-related signal
input/output or want to connect a safety device to the product, be sure to set the terminal at a
dual safety I/O at Teach Pendant.
