Filling and bleeding

4.1

Filling and bleeding the water heater and heating system

1. Turn off heating system circulation pump and external circulation pump.
2. Fill the water heater with cold water by opening the shut-off valve (80) on the incoming cold water pipe.
3. Bleed by opening one of the hot water taps.
4. Then fill the water heater coil and the heating system with water through the shut-off valve (80) to the return line to a pressure of
approximately 1 bar.
5. Open all heating system valves fully.
6. Bleed all heating systems and the water heater coil.
7. Refill the heating system to a pressure of approximately 1 bar.
8. Repeat the procedure until all air has been removed.
9. Check the system for leakage.
10. Leave the radiator valves fully open.
In the event of draining the water heater, the following should be
applied:

The pressure in the heating system must never exceed 3 bar.
Bleed the system thoroughly!
Leave all radiator valves fully open.
Before the brine circuit is filled, the electrical installation must be com-
pleted and checked so that the brine pump can be manoeuvred.
Always check local rules and regulations before filling with antifreeze.

Antifreeze with anti-corrosive properties must be used so that frost
protection down to -17 ±2°C is achieved.

Connect a hose to the cold water line on the top of the tank and
pump out the water using a siphon.
