Rear-Discharging the Grass Clippings

Use the rear discharge for cutting very tall grass.
Note: If the grass bag is on the machine, remove it before rear-discharging the clippings; refer to Removing
the Grass Bag.

Rear Deflector

The machine must be used with the grass bag attached or the rear deflector in the closed position. Figure
14.

Shutting off the Machine

1. Release the blade-control bar (A of Figure 15).
2. Remove the electric-start button from the electric starter. (B of Figure 15).
3. Remove the battery pack; refer to Removing the Battery Pack from the Machine.
Note: Whenever you are not using the machine, remove the electric-start button and battery pack.
