Intercooler – Checking condensate drains for coolant
discharge and obstructions
Unguarded rotating and moving engine components.
Risk of serious injury – danger to life!
DANGER
Engine noise above 85 dB (A).
Risk of damage to hearing!

Compressed air.

Intercooler – Checking condensate drains for
coolant discharge and obstructions
1. With the engine running, verify that air emerges
from the condensate drain(s) at driving end, left
and right engine side. If no air emerges:
2. Clean drain bore(s) and blow out with compressed
air.
3. If a large amount of coolant is continuously
discharged, the intercooler is leaking. Contact
Service.
Emergency measures prior to engine start with a leaking intercooler
1. Remove injectors (→ Page 110).
2. Bar engine manually (→ Page 95).
3. Bar engine with starting system to blow out combustion chambers (→ Page 96).
4. Install injectors (→ Page 110).
