Preconditions
• Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
• MTU Fluids and Lubricants Specifications (A001061/..) are available.

Task
Depreserve (→MTU Fluids and Lubricants Specifications A001061/..).
Lubricate valve gear every ≥ 6 months (→ Page 104).
Check engine oil level (→ Page 134).
Prime (→ Page 122).
Align adjustable pointer with position of pressure indicator (→ Page 117).
If engine is out of service for more than one year, change engine coolant
(→ Page 139);
Change charge-air coolant (→ Page 146).
Check engine coolant level (→ Page 143);
Check charge-air coolant level (→ Page 150).
Preheat coolant with preheating unit.
Check plug-in connections (→ Page 157).
Carry out lamp test (see manufacturer's documentation).
Switch ON;
Select operating mode, e.g. MANUAL OPERATION, AUTOMATIC OPERATION.
