3.4 – Deep Measuring
For application on large workpieces and EPS blocks, AG20 needles are available
with lengths between 100 and 1000mm.
The needles allow inspection of the fusion index at different depths, even in blocks
with high densities.
For blocks with density up to 10kg/m
material, observing only the correct alignment of the needle. It is recommended,
however, the previous creation of a guide hole to guarantee the correct direction of the
needle, especially in depths greater than 200mm.
For blocks with higher density (up to 50kg/m3), direct insertion should be limited to a
maximum depth of 100mm. For greater depths it is necessary to create a guide hole,
responsible for relieving the lateral friction of the needle and guarantee the penetration
trajectory.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Never attempt to directly insert long needles into EPS blocks without first
creating a guide hole. Excessive force required to penetrate the material
may permanently damage the needle body and lead to workplace
accidents.
Measuring needles, especially long needles, should be handled with care
because they are highly piercing objects.
