The Door Will Not Open; Opening The Door In The Event Of A Blocked Drain Outlet And/Or Power Cut - Miele PWM 511 Operating And Installation Instructions

The door will not open.

Problem
Door opening not possible. The door is locked during the wash cycle.
At the end of a programme
or when a programme is
cancelled, the following
appears in the display:
Cooling down Extra
or
cooling .
The following appears in
F -Door lock
the display:
fault. Call Miele.

Opening the door in the event of a blocked drain outlet and/or power cut

 Disconnect the machine from the electrical power supply.
There is a lever behind the detergent drawer panel which opens the access panel to the

drainage system.
For variants with a locked detergent dispenser, the opener is included in the accessory
pack.
Remove the lever.
Possible cause and remedy
Touch the Start/Stop sensor.

Programme cancellation
Select

The door will unlock and you will be able to pull it open.
There is still water in the drum and the washing machine is
unable to drain.
Clean the drainage system as described in "Opening the

door in the event of a blocked drain outlet and/or power
cut".
To protect the user against scalding, the door cannot be
opened if the suds temperature is higher than 55 °C.
Wait until the temperature in the drum has decreased

and the message has gone out in the display.
The door lock has jammed.
Call Miele.

