Installing a 9.5mm slim optical drive
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the access panel
3.
Remove the front bezel if you are installing a drive in a bay covered by a bezel blank, then remove the
bezel blank. See

Align the small pin on the release latch with the small hole on the side of the drive and press the latch
firmly onto the drive.
5.
Slide the optical drive through the front of the chassis (1) all the way into the bay so that it locks in
place, and then connect the power cable (2) and data cable (3) to the rear of the drive.
6.
Connect the opposite end of the data cable to one of the light blue SATA connectors on the system board
(labeled SATA1 or SATA2) if not already connected.
