Safety instructions:
It is to be ensured that the power supply wires for the PSC1 and "switching wires" for the
power converter are laid separately.
Signal wires and power wires for the power converter are to be laid in separate cable ducts.
The distance between the cable ducts should be at least 10 mm.
Only screened wires are to be used to connect the position and speed sensors. The cables for
the transmission of the signals must be suitable for the RS-485 standard (twisted pairs).
The screen is to be connected correctly to the 9-pin SUB-D connectors for the position and
speed acquisition sensors. Only metal or metallised connectors are allowed.
The screen at the sensor end must be laid according to customary methods.
Attention is to be paid to the correct installation in relation to EMC of the power converter
technology in the area of the PSC1 module. Particular attention should be paid to cable routing
and the connection of the screen for the motor cable and the connection of brake resistor.
Here it is imperative the installation guidelines from the manufacturer of the power converter
are followed.
All contactors in the area of the converter must be equipped with an appropriate suppressor
circuit.
All contactors or comparable switching amplifiers must be equipped with appropriate
protective circuitry (e.g. free-wheeling diodes).
Suitable measures for protection against overvoltage are to be taken.
Symbols used according to UL 61010-1
