Chapter 2. Installing the tape enclosure
This chapter provides information about unpacking the enclosure and accessory
cartons, setting up the enclosure, installing a drive, and installing the enclosure in a
rack.
Unpacking the enclosure and accessory cartons
The following illustrations show the items that come with the IBM 4 U Rack Mount
Tape Enclosure and accessory option kits.
Notes:
1. The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from the hardware.
2. You can install up to four full-high drives or six half-high drives in the enclosure.
3. The enclosure option kit and accessory option kit must be ordered separately.
4. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your place of purchase.
5. Depending on laws and regulations in your country or region, you might not

You need an accessory kit for each tape drive that you install in the enclosure. See
