Cleaning and disinfecting
NOTICE
Danger of material damage!
Do not use solvents (e.g., acetone, alcohol) or cleaning
agents with abrasive particles for cleaning and disinfecting.
► Only apply the described procedures and use the cleaning
agents and disinfectants specified for powered air-
purifying respirators.
5.1.1 Manual cleaning
For information on suitable cleaning agents and disin-
fectants and their specifications, see document
9100081 at www.draeger.com/IFU.
Dräger recommends MediClean Forte or Suma® Light
D1.2 for the manual cleaning of the X-plore 8000 face shield
and X-plore 8000 helmet with PC visor HL1.
1. Prepare a cleaning solution of water and the cleaning
agent. Alternatively, you can use lukewarm soapy water.
2. Clean facepiece in an immersion bath.
3. Rinse with fresh water.
4. Allow all parts to air-dry or leave them to dry in a drying
chamber (temperature: max. 50 °C, time: max. 2 h).
Protect from direct sunlight.
5. Check all components. Replace damaged or deformed
components, or components that are stuck together.

5.1.2 Mechanical cleaning

Only clean and disinfect face cuff manually. Mechanical
cleaning and disinfection are not recommended for this part.
High temperatures during cleaning and disinfection put a lot of
strain on the materials. Dräger recommends using the lowest
possible temperatures (max. 55 °C). The facepiece is not
suitable for washing machines and should therefore only be
spray-cleaned.
1. Remove face cuff.
2. Load a cleaning/disinfection unit with the facepieces.
3. Start the standard mask program (spray program) with the
following settings:
Duration of cleaning phase: 5...20 min.
Water temperature: 55 °C
Cleaning agent: 0.4% Suma Jade Pur-Eco L8
Rinsing phase: 1x with 0.05% Suma Med Neutral
4. Remove facepieces from the machine.
5. If the facepiece is still dirty, clean it again.
6. If necessary, remove detergent residues on hard plastic
parts with a cloth and clean water.
7. Allow all parts to air-dry or leave them to dry in a drying
chamber (temperature: max. 50 °C, time: max. 2 h).
Protect from direct sunlight.
8. Check all components. Replace damaged or deformed
components, or components that are stuck together.
