Cleaning

CAUTION
!
Potential damage to component parts!
For cleaning and disinfecting, do not use any solvents (e.g.
acetone, alcohol) or cleaning agents with scouring particles.
Only follow the specified procedure and use the specified
cleaning and disinfecting agents. Other agents and
procedures, dosages and exposure times can damage
component parts.

When the full facepiece is cleaned and disinfected manually, the
communication unit can remain fitted onto the full facepiece. However,
it can also be cleaned separately. It is not necessary to disinfect the
communication unit.
1. Dismantle the communication unit from the full facepiece (see
chapter 5.3.4 on page 19).
2. If neither the insert for the radio connection cable nor the insert for
the Bluetooth connection is mounted, plug in the dummy insert. If
the contacts of the radio connector on the communication unit are
open, water can penetrate the communication unit and damage it.
3. If no earphone is plugged in, make sure to insert the
corresponding plug into the earphone jack.
4. Fit the protective cap onto the full facepiece and clean the full
facepiece in accordance with the corresponding instructions for
use.
5. Prepare a cleaning solution consisting of water and a cleaning
agent.

6. Clean all parts using a soft cloth with cleaning solution. Tough dirt
marks can be removed using a soft brush. In the process, ensure
that the loudspeakers are not touched with the brush.
7. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
8. Dry all parts either at least 12 hours in the air or 30 to 60 minutes
in a drying cabinet (temperature: max. 140 °F/60 °C). Keep out of
direct sunlight.

The actual drying time required can vary greatly depending
on climatic influences.

9. Check whether the earphones and fastening eyes are damaged.
Replace earphones and fastening eyes if damaged (see
chapter 5.3.2 on page 19 and 5.3.3 on page 19).
If the fixing lugs on the visor frame are damaged, the visor frame
of the full facepiece must be replaced.

Maintenance work

CAUTION
!
During assembly work the specified torques must be
observed, otherwise the communication unit could be
damaged. Use suitable tools.
5.3.1
Replacing batteries
WARNING
!
Do not replace the batteries in an explosive environment!
Otherwise there is a risk of explosion!
The batteries are part of the approved version. The batteries
which can be used are specified in the supplement.
