Coin Changer User Guide

Tokens

The coin changer has the capacity for 32 pre-programmed tokens and can have up to 6
tokens active at any time. Four of those active tokens can be pre-programmed tokens that
are enabled in the field, and 2 of those active tokens can be taught in the field (by dropping
samples).
A pre-programmed token has factory optimized validation data but requires the customer to
set the unit token type.
All pre-programmed tokens are disabled by default.
Value Token
The token has a credit value, but it is not stored in a tube and no change is returned from
remaining token credit. (Value tokens are not supported within the MDB protocol. To allow a
value token to be used within an MDB system, the coin changer will allow a token to be
taught and assigned a value. This will be reported to the MDB Vending Machine Controller
(VMC) as a coin; however, it will show as a token on audits directly taken from the changer).
Vend Token
The token allows a vend on a particular product line (if the value is set to the appropriate
product line) or a free vend on any product line (if the object value is set to 0).
Reject Token
The object will be credited but not accepted, i.e., routed to the reject path. It may be useful to
have a special token to open a machine, as a sidewalk newspaper vendor might want.
Slug
The object has no credit value and may be rejected or accepted to the cashbox.
