Connecting the dishwasher to
the electricity
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Faulty electrical installation or excessive
mains voltage may result in an electric
shock.
■ Prior to connecting the dishwasher,
ensure that you have taken note of all
safety instructions from page  EN-4
and adhered to them.
Fire hazard!
Improper handling of the appliance
can lead to fi re.
■ Never use multi-socket adapters, mul-
ti-socket strips, travel adapters or the
like.
Depending on the recess into which the
dishwasher will be installed, the dishwasher
should be connected before or after installa-
tion.
– For the electrical connection of the dish-
washer, a professional must install an
earthed power socket with its own fuse
of a sufficient size (220–240 V~ / 50 Hz /
10 A).
– The plug must be installed in such a way
that the recess into which the dishwasher
will be fitted is deep enough even when
the plug is plugged in.
– Do not use a multi-socket extension ca-
ble, multi-socket plug, travel adapter, ex-
tension cable or similar.
– We recommend using a pulse-sensitive
residual current device (RCD).
• Insert the mains plug into the socket.
Installation, connection and starting-up
Adjusting the door's
accessibility
You can adjust how easy or difficult it is to
open the dishwasher door. This setting is of-
ten required after the front panel has been
mounted. You can change the spring force of
the door by turning both lower screws.
– Turn the screw anticlockwise to adjust the
door more smoothly.
– Turn the screws clockwise to make it
harder to open the door.

Adjusting for hard water

Hard water leads to calcification of the dish-
washer, to extra consumption of dishwash-
er detergent, and to unattractive limescale
marks on the cookware. The purpose of the
dishwasher salt is to prevent this. You need
to set the water hardness level to determine
the correct dosage of dishwasher salt. Do this
preferably before using the appliance for the
first time.
Setting the hardness level
In order to determine the water hardness in
your place of residence, you can
– look on the website of your water provider.
– telephone your water supplier.
– purchase suitable test strips at the phar-
macy.
