Adjusting the Engine Idle Speed

1. Allow the engine to reach operating temperature before checking or adjusting
the engine speed.
2. Park the machine on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
3. With the engine running, move the throttle control lever to the FAST (high
idle) position.
4. Using a tachometer, check that the engine is operating within the high idle
specification; refer to
5. If the high idle speed is incorrect, adjust the throttle stop screw on the
governor assembly as necessary.
6. If necessary, loosen the throttle cable clamp screw and reposition the throttle
control cable until the governor assembly moves from stop to stop.
7. Move the throttle control lever to the SLOW (idle speed) position.
8. Using a tachometer, check that the engine is operating within the low idle
