Electrical System: General Information
Before performing any welding on the machine, turn the key switch
to the OFF position. To prevent damage to the machine electrical
system, disconnect the ground (-) cable from the engine when
welding on the chassis.
The Operator's Manual provides information regarding the operation, general
maintenance, and maintenance intervals for your Field Pro 6040. Refer to the
Operator's Manual for additional information when servicing the machine.
When servicing or troubleshooting the engine electrical components, use the
correct engine service manual. Kohler engine service manuals are available
through your MyTurf subscription and the links found in this manual. Kohler
engine manuals are also available to Authorized Toro Distributors via Gateway.
The hour meter/controller located on the control panel preforms the following
functions:
•
Displays the total hours of engine operation
•
Displays the current position of the parking brake, traction control levers, and
the operator presence switch (if equipped)
•
Includes a charging system low voltage indicator
•
Provides control for the safety interlock system
•
Provides a path to ground for the engine ignition circuit
•
Energizes the engine fuel solenoid
•
Energizes the start and wireless hour meter relays
Note: The hour meter/controller includes a PTO position indicator. The indicator
functions when the auxiliary switch connector is used. The indicator is not used
on standard machines.
