Altronix SMP10WP12 is a 10A @ 12VDC, NEMA4 rated outdoor power supply. It is designed to be mounted
outdoors to reduce installation and wiring costs while increasing efficiency and reliability to provide the power
needed by the most demanding security and access control applications. Unit's unique NEMA 4/IP65 rated
enclosure allows installation right at the outdoor equipment it is designed to power.
Input:
• 115VAC 50/60Hz, 1.9A.
Output:
• 12VDC output
• 10A continuous supply current.
• Filtered and electronically regulated output.
• Short circuit and thermal overload protection.
Visual Indicators:
• AC and DC power LED indicators.
SMP10WP12 should be installed in accordance with The National Electrical Code and all applicable
Local Regulations.
1. Remove back plate inside enclosure by removing the four (4) mounting screws (Fig. 2, pg. 5).
2. Mark and drill desired knockouts on the enclosure to facilitate wiring (Fig. 1, pg. 4).
3. Secure back plate inside enclosure with the four (4) mounting screws (Fig. 2, pg. 5).
4. Unit can be wall or pole mounted.
Wall Mount:
- Mark and drill holes to line up with the top and bottom holes of the enclosure flange.
- Secure enclosure with appropriate fasteners (Fig. 3, pg. 7).
Pole Mount:
- Refer to the detailed pole mount instructions (pg. 7).
Secure enclosure to earth ground.
5. Slide [Power ON/OFF] switch to OFF position (Fig. 1, pg. 2).
6. Connect AC power to the terminals marked [L & N], connect ground to the terminal marked [G].
Use 18 AWG or larger for all power connections (Battery, DC output, AC input).
Use 22 AWG to 18 AWG for power limited circuits (AC Fail/Low Battery reporting).
Keep power-limited wiring separate from non power-limited wiring (115VAC, 60Hz Input, Battery
Wires). Minimum 0.25" spacing must be provided.
CAUTION: Do not touch exposed metal parts.
Shut branch circuit power before installing or servicing equipment.
There are no user serviceable parts inside.
Refer installation and servicing to qualified service personnel.
7. Slide [Power ON/OFF] switch to ON position (Fig. 1, pg. 2).
8. Measure output voltage before connecting devices. This helps avoiding potential damage.
9. Slide [Power ON/OFF] switch to OFF position (Fig. 1, pg. 2).
10. Connect devices to be powered to the terminals marked [– DC +].
When the use of stand-by batteries is desired, they must be lead acid or gel type.
11. Connect battery to the terminals marked [– BAT +] (battery leads included).
Note: When batteries are not used, a loss of AC will result in the loss of output voltage.
12. Slide [Power ON/OFF] switch to ON position (Fig. 1, pg. 2).
