Before each use
inspect device per user manual
including locking function
(pull sharply to test), retraction
function, lifeline function,
function and condition of
connectors, housing and fasteners,
legibility of labels, and any evidence of defects,
damage, or missing parts. Inspection by a
Competent Person required at least every 6
months. Inspect shock absorber for signs of
previous deployment or load. Torn or stretched
plastic on shock pack is an indication that an
impact has occurred and the unit must be removed
from service. If used to arrest the fall, remove from
service. Do not use if inspection reveals an
unsafe condition. Powerful spring inside, do
not remove covers.
