Requirements

If the environmental conditions differ from those specified in section "Technical data",
as to temperature and humidity, or if the atmosphere around the machine terminal con-
tains chemically active gases or dust, the terminal should be visually inspected in asso-
ciation with the secondary testing. The visual inspection should focus on:
• Signs of mechanical damage to the machine terminal case and terminals
• Dust inside the machine terminal cover or case; remove carefully with compressed
air
• Signs of corrosion on terminals, on the case or inside the machine terminal
For information about the maintenance of machine terminals, refer to section "Service".
Note! Protection relays are measuring instruments and should be handled with care and
protected against moisture and mechanical stress, especially during transport.
