SIS Configuration
and Control
Use Simple Instruction Set (SIS) commands to configure the DAC 102. This section provides
information about using those commands. Topics include:

Host Control Port

Rear Panel Configuration USB Port

The rear panel POWER/CONFIG USB mini-B port (see figure 2,
connected to a host computer for configuration using SIS commands. To connect the
decoder to a host computer, download the USB driver, follow the on-screen instructions,
and configure the decoder as required.

Simple Instruction Set Control

Host-to-Unit Instructions

SIS commands consist of one or more characters per field. No special characters are
required to begin or end a command character sequence. When a command is valid, the
decoder executes the command and sends a response to the host device. All responses
from the decoder to the host end with a carriage return and a line feed (CR/LF = ] ), which
signals the end of the response character string. A string is one or more characters.

Device-Initiated Power-Up Message

When a local event such as a front panel selection or change in signal status takes place,
the decoder responds by sending a message to the host, indicating what change has
occurred. No response is required from the host.
When the decoder completes its start-up, it issues the following message to the host:

NOTE: This message is displayed at power-up with the USB connection only.

Timeout

Pauses of 10 seconds or longer between command ASCII characters result in a timeout.
The command operation is aborted with no other indication.
