Introduction
This Printer Interface Cartridge (PIC) facilitates connection of the
Epson GX-80 printer to your Apple Ile computer.
In addition to the standard print features of Epson printers, the
GX-80 also offers a SelecType function. This function allows you to
select among the following typestyles by a simple control panel
operation:
• Draft mode for quick printing of ordinary work
• Near Letter Quality mode for top quality printing
• Two kinds of bold printing ( emphasized and double-strike)
• Condensed printing to print up to 137 characters per line
• Elite and pica pitch selection.
The GX-80 also offers:
• High-resolution graphics for charts, diagrams and illustrations
• Easy paper loading
• Ribbon cartridge for quick and clean ribbon changing
About This Manual
This manual contains all the information you need to use the
GX-80. The more technical information is in the appendices. The
main body of the manual is concerned mainly with a detailed ex-
planation of the how to use the commands to their best effect. If you
have problems, or simply wish to have an in-depth description of a
particular function, refer to the index.
