Adjustment procedure
*1 These procedures are for making adjustment by moving the cylinder piston on the L end at its initial
position to the R end by using the deceleration controller (double-end specifications). When adjustment
is made with the single-end specifications or by moving the cylinder piston on the R end at its initial
position to the L end, skip unnecessary steps and reverse the adjustment direction as necessary.
*2 When using a cylinder with an air cushion, we recommend that you fully open the cushion needle of the
cylinder.
Please check SMC website for further details on setting and adjustment of DAS series.

R end
1. Initial setting
1-1. [Setting of timing knob and

Adjust the timing knob to a position
near the fully opened position ("8"
on scale), and adjust the 2
knob to the fully closed position ("0"
on scale).
[Speed controller adjustment]
Adjust the speed controller to a
state of 4 to 5 turns in the opening

* If the cylinder bore size, stroke,
and piping tube length are within the

dimensions, and it is also possible

to fully check the safety surrounding
areas, adjust the speed controller to
the set speed, and then make
further adjustments.
Follow the above procedures for
each of the R end and L end in
accordance with the deceleration
controller specifications (double-end
specifications
specifications)

Caution
* Before conducting switching, check the valve switching
directions.
When under meter-out control, the cylinder may suddenly
move at uncontrollable speed depending on the switching
direction.
