The laser pedal (3) has a switching point that separates 2 switching stages:
At stage 1 (laser pedal (3) operated until you feel the resistance of the switching point), the
work flow AIR and the work suction mode of the VAC are activated. No laser light is emitted
yet at this point. If additional devices have been connected to the Accessory Port see
section 6.2.5 "Accessory Port", page 29), they are also activated at stage 1.
At stage 2 (laser pedal pressed down beyond the switching point), laser light is emitted in

addition.
The laser warning symbol lights up continuously on the display and the LASER ACTIVE
LED lights up yellow, see section 6.6.4 "LASER ACTIVE Indicator", page 45.
In pulsed mode, the yellow LED is flashing in synchrony with the laser light pulses.
Releasing the laser pedal (3) interrupts laser light emission at once.

— The LASER ACTIVE indicator turns dark and LASER READY is displayed again.
— AIR (purge air flow) is automatically switched from "work flow AIR" to "basic flow".
— VAC starts "work suction" mode for the set delay time; this is followed by "basic
suction" mode for the set delay time.
— Thereafter the VAC is automatically switched off.
At stage 2 both the rotary switch and the keypad are inoperable. Only the STANDBY, VAC
and AIR buttons remain active.
