Be sure to observe the relevant Instructions for Use (of focusing handpiece or other
accessory applicators).
Besides, follow the instructions and cautions (symbols) provided on the packaging, see
section "Symbol Explanation", page 2.
The laser features a coded SMA (SMAplus) socket which ensures that laser activation is
possible only if a laser fiber with a SMAplus plug has been connected.
Remove the laser fibers and applicators permitted for use with the Limax

Limax
120.
— When using sterile disposable products, check the packaging for integrity and observe
the expiration date!
Before connecting the supply fiber of a focusing handpiece, the following visual inspection
steps must be carried out:
— Check supply fiber for potential damage over its entire length.
— Remove protective cap from the SMAplus plug of the supply fiber.
— Check coupling-in side of the SMAplus plug for potential damage and soiling.
— Inspect the optics (lens) of the focusing handpiece.
Insert the SMAplus plug axially into the SMAplus connecting socket, then fully fingertighten
the nut (do not use tools!). Once the SMAplus plug has been connected correctly, the red
"Connect fiber" symbol disappears from the screen and "LASER STANDBY" is displayed in
green.
Check the laser fiber and the focusing handpiece for proper working condition using the
pilot laser light see section 6.8 "Checking the Laser Fiber with the Pilot Laser", page 54.
