Driving your vehicle
stopping engine automatically, the
engine does not restart automatically
and a warning chime alarms. When
this happens, press the brake pedal
for auto start.
Auto start
To restart the engine from idle
stop mode

僅 Release the brake pedal.
or
僅 Move the shift gear to the R (Reverse)
position or the manual mode while
depressing the brake pedal.
The engine will start and the green
AUTO STOP indicator (
instrument cluster will go out.
The engine will also restart auto-
matically without any driver
actions if the following occurs:
僅 The brake vacuum pressure is low.
僅 The engine has stopped for about 5
minutes.
僅 The air conditioning is ON with the fan
speed set to the highest position.
僅 The front defroster is ON
僅 The battery is weak.
僅 The cooling and heating performance
of the climate control system is unsat-
isfactory.
Condition of ISG system opera-
tion
The ISG system will operate
under the following condition:
僅 The driver's seatbelt is fastened
僅 The driver's door and hood are closed
僅 The brake vacuum pressure is ade-
quate
僅 The battery sensor is activated and
the battery is sufficiently charged
僅 Outside temperature is not too low or
too high
僅 The vehicle is driven over a constant
speed and stops
僅 The climate control system satisfies
the conditions
僅 The vehicle is sufficiently warmed up
僅 The incline is gradual
僅 The steering wheel is turned less than
180 degrees and then the vehicle
stops
僅 If the ISG system does not meet the
) on the
operation condition, the ISG system is
deactivated. The light on the ISG OFF
button will appear and a message
"Auto Stop conditions not met" will
appear on the LCD display.
僅 If the light or notice comes on contin-
uously, please check the operation
condition.
