Connecting the instruments

Keysight N7700 Photonic Application Suite, Fast Spectral Loss Engine, User's Guide
Install the software before you connect the hardware.
Depending upon the type of TLS and power meter mainframes you are
going to use for the setup, you have different options for connecting the
instruments to the PC. Refer to the user guides of all instruments used, to
check how to connect those instruments.
The Photonic Application Suite installs the Keysight IO Libraries, including
the Keysight Connection Expert. Make sure that all instruments are shown
in the Keysight Connection Expert, then start the Photonic Application
Suite software.
Instruments connected to the LAN interface are not found automatically
NOTE
by clicking Refresh All, but need to be added manually once. Refer to the
Keysight Technologies USB/LAN/GPIB Connectivity Guide for further
information.
The Fast Spectral Loss Measurement application requires the trigger
NOTE
output of the tunable laser source to be connected to the trigger input
port of the power meter.
