Loading Paper

The printer can feed paper from the MP tray, the standard lower
cassette and the optional lower paper cassette unit.
Please note the following points when choosing paper:
Paper should be of high quality and be relatively smooth, with
a weight between 64 and 81.4 g/m² (17 to 21.7 lb) in the case
of plain paper, and 81.4 and 128 g/m² (21.7 to 34.1 lb) for card
stock.
The printer is extremely sensitive to moisture. Be sure to store
your paper in a dry environment.
The use of colored paper is acceptable, but coated paper
should be avoided.
You may use paper with preprinted letterheads, provided
that the paper and ink are both laser-printer type.

MP Tray (Paper Cassettes)

This section describes how to load paper into the MP tray. As the
paper-loading procedures of MP tray, standard lower paper
cassette, and 250-sheet lower paper cassette are almost the same,
also refer to this section when loading paper into these paper
cassettes.
For information on the paper sizes and types available for each
paper cassette, see "Paper Sources" on page 23.
