Installing an Option Card

Before you install the option card, follow the steps under
"Accessing the Printer System Board" on page 293. If you need to
remove an option card, see "Removing an Option Card" on
page 319.

Electronic components are easily damaged by
:
static electricity. Touch something metal
before you touch the card.
Locate the option card connectors on the system board. If
you are installing only one card, install it in connector 1. If
you are installing multiple cards on a model with multiple
connectors, use connector 1 first, connector 2 second, and
connector 3 last.
