Using the Laser

CAUTION
Danger of injury!
All persons present in the room, including the patient, must now wear laser protective
goggles. It is highly advisable to check, prior to operating the LASER READY button, that
everyone present complies with this requirement. Be sure to check the patient as well!
Be sure to avoid direct eye contact with the red pilot laser light!
Connect laser fiber (see section 6.2 "Connecting the Laser Fiber", page 45)
Check laser fiber (see section 6.3 "Checking the Laser Fiber with the Pilot Laser", page 46)
Select laser program (see section 6.14.2 "Selecting Programs", page 55)
Press LASER READY button (see section 6.1.6 "Keypad", page 39)
Operate foot switch to apply laser radiation.

Turning off the Limax
Rotate keylock switch key from horizontal to vertical position.
CAUTION
Danger of injury!
A laser unit that is not being used must be protected against unauthorized use.
To comply with this requirement, remove key and store it in a safe place.
Remove laser fiber and dispose of it in accordance with the Instructions for Use.
Clean the accessories, then store them away.
Clean and disinfect the external surfaces of the unit with a cloth in accordance with
relevant hygiene regulations. Take care that no liquid enters the unit through its openings.
Never use sprays!
NOTICE
Be sure to keep the SMAplus fiber socket completely dry at all times!
