Trailers
The machine is permitted to tow/propel a trailer with a maximum total mass as specified on the data panel of
the machine.
For machines capable of towing 3T, the machine is permitted to tow/propel up to two un-braked trailers with a
maximum total mass of 3,000kg.
Coupling/uncoupling
Follow trailer manufacturers' guidance/safe system of work for coupling and decoupling on rail.
Below are some guidance notes relating to trailers:
- Ensure trailer being used has a current ECC
- Ensure trailer and hitch is compatible with the machine
- Ensure trailer electrical connection and breakaway loop is compatible with machine and in
good working order
- DO NOT exceed trailers maximum permissible speed, cant or gradient
- Ensure load is distributed evenly and secured according to manufacturers' recommendations
If in doubt, do not use the trailer and seek advice from relevant personnel.
