Scheduled work
With machine on rail, check the rail sweeper for

signs of damage or loose fixings
Adjust rail sweeper so that it is <10.0mm and >

30.0mm above rail head
3 Repeat for other rail sweepers fitted
Job No. – ChasBTBG (Back to back gauge)
Scheduled work
Using a calibrated go/no-go gauge or other
1 suitable measuring device, measure the back to
back distance at 3 points
If any result is not within the tolerance of
2
1358mm-1362mm
3 Repeat for other axle
Job No. – ChasSBT (Service brake test)
Scheduled work
1 With machine on dry, clean, level rail
Drive machine at maximum speed and release
2
controls at a known point
Measure distance from known point where
3
controls were released
Repeat test a further 2 times in the same
4
direction of travel
5 Repeat tests in opposite direction
6 Repeat above tests in low speed
7 If any result exceeds 18.0m
Compare results with previous tests to identify if
8
braking efficiency has degraded

1 Renew rail sweeper if required
1 Replace any missing fixings

2 Check torque hubs for security
Check wheels are correctly seated on torque hub
