Using the KDB with the ZL load button

The ZL load button is suitable for preventing torques, bending moments and
obliqueness from being applied to the sensor. Use the load button when you
have to perform force calibrations (measuring the total force) with the KDB.
Place the load button on the top of the sensor in the center. A centering bore in
the sensor and a thread bore in the load button are used for exact alignment.
The required centering pin with thread is included with delivery.
The load button ensures centered load application and the sensor can be used
up to 3 MN.
7.5 Using the KDB with the ZL load button and EPO thrust
piece
If you use the load application cited above, bending moments, forces applied at
an angle and torques will not be directed into the sensor. The EPO also re­
duces the surface pressure in comparison to an installation situation in which
only the ZL load button is used. We recommend this combination when using
the KDB as a reference force transducer, since centered force application and
compensation for any parallelism error is ensured.
In this way the sensor can be used up to 3 MN.
