FRONT SUSPENSION AND STEERING
The top of the spindle tilts away from the snowmobile if it
has positive camber. See Figure 32.
Adevice to measure spindle angle in degrees is required
to measure spindle camber. The tool shown in Figure 33
is available at most hardware or building supply stores.
Proceed as follows to measure and adjust spindle cam-
ber.
1. Position the snowmobile on a level surface. Do not
raise the front of the snowmobile when measuring spindle
camber.
2. Make sure the snowmobile is level by placing the an-
gle reading tool against the flat portion of the snowmobile
pan (Figure 34).
3. Place the angle reading tool against the flat, vertical
surface near the spindle weld on the trailing arm (Figure 35).
4. Observe the reading on the angle reading tool. The tool
should indicate plus or minus
Ski pivot bolt
Ski handle
Ski runner (skag)
All other models
Ski mounting bracket
(models so equipped)
Steering arm
Trailing arm pivot bolt
Sway bar link bolt
Control arms
Inner bolts
Outer bolts
Shock absorber

5. To adjust spindle camber, proceed as follows:
a. Loosen the jam nut at the inner end on the lower
control arm (Figure
(Figure 37) and separate the control arm end from
the spindle.

Tighten the bolt to 56 N*m (41 ft.-lb.).
e. Recheck spindle camber. Readjust if necessary'.
f. Tighten the jam nut securely.
g. Check and adjust the spindle camber as needed on
the opposite side.
h. Check the ski toe-out as previously described.
