a. The ohmmeter should read zero ohms when operat-
ing the throttle lever.
b. The ohmmeter should read infinity with the throttle
lever is at rest.
5. If the throttle switch does not indicate the readings
specified in Step 4, replace the right handlebar switch as-
sembly as described in this chapter.
Carburetor Switch
Refer to Figure 41.
1. Open the shroud.
2. Adjust the throttle cable free play as described in
Chapter Three.
3. Locate the carburetor switch at the carburetor and dis-
connect the electrical connector.
4. Set an ohmmeter on the R x 1 scale.

5. Connect the ohmmeter to the black/yellow and black
terminals on the carburetor switch connector. Test as fol-
lows:
a. The ohmmeter should read zero ohms when operat-
ing the throttle lever.

6. If the carburetor switch does not include the readings
specified, replace the carburetor switch.
All models are equipped with hand warming handlebar
grips and a thumbwarmer. Temperature may be controlled
by a variable resistor. Some models may also have
