INITIAL STARTING PROCEDURE
Prior to turning on power, set each control a s s h o w n above
in advance. Setting of other s w i t c h e s and controls in the
power off condition has no relation with operation. For de-
tails of switches and controls, refer to section " C O N T R O L S

By pressing C H 2 of the V E R T I C A L MODE s w i t c h e s @
and supplying signal to the C H 2 input connector ® ,
channel-2 input signal is displayed on the C R T in the same
manner as c h a n n e l - 1 .
Channel-3 and channel-4 signals can be displayed on the
C R T in the same manner.
By pressing A D D of the V E R T I C A L MODE s w i t c h e s @ ,
composite waveform of channel-1 and channel-2 signals
(algebraic s u m of them) is displayed on the C R T . By

Sensitivity of the A D D mode equals the set value of the
V O L T S / D I V control if the C H 1 V O L T S / D I V and C H 2
V O L T S / D I V are set to the same value.
If A L T of the V E R T I C A L M O D E s w i t c h e s © is selected,
every sweep operation displays selected channels of C H 1
to C H 4 and A D D alternately.
4 . If w a v e f o r m to be observed cannot be triggered due to
wavering or the trigger point is to be moved, carry out
trigger adjustment described below.
Trigger Operation
For waveform observation of input signal, the s w e e p cir-
cuit must
be triggered properly

a)
A U T O
If A U T O of the T R I G MODE s w i t c h e s (§) is select-
ed, the s w e e p circuit runs free w h e n no trigger sig-
nal is supplied, facilitating confirmation of the GND
level, etc.
If the trigger signal is supplied, the A U T O mode al-
lows the trigger point to be set with the L E V E L and
S L O P E for observation, like the normal trigger oper-
ation. The s w e e p circuit also runs free w h e n the
trigger point e x c e e d s the trigger range, resulting
in wavering of w a v e f o r m .
N O T E : The A U T O sweep mode cannot be triggered
if frequency of input signal is lower than 5 0
Hz. For s u c h signals, use the normal s w e e p
mode.
