A L T :
Displays A s w e e p and B s w e e p (delayed
s w e e p ) alternately. Intensity of a B s w e e p
portion displayed on A sweep waveform is in-
creased.
B:
A c t i v a t e s the B s w e e p only.
X - Y :
The C S - 6 0 2 0 functions as an oscilloscope us-
ing C H 1 , C H 2 , C H 3 , or C H 4 as the Y-axis and
C H 2 as the X - a x i s .
N O T E : Since the B s w e e p does not provide
the automatic free running function,
no waveform is displayed if not trig-
gered. Be sure to trigger the B s w e e p
with the B L E V E L (§).

S W E E P TIME/DIV Control
S e t s s w e e p time of the A s w e e p and B s w e e p .
If A of the H O R I Z O N T A L MODE s w i t c h e s ® is select-
ed, this control selects the A s w e e p time in 1 -2-5 steps
in 2 3 ranges from 2 0 ns/div. to 0 . 5 s/div. Clockwise
rotation changes s w e e p time toward 2 0 ns/div. Coun-
terclockwise rotation changes it toward 0 . 5 s/div.
If A INT B, A L T , or B of the H O R I Z O N T A L MODE
s w i t c h e s (30) is selected, it selects the B s w e e p time in
1-2-5 steps in 1 7 ranges from 2 0 ns/div. to 5 ms/div.
S w e e p time shall be checked on the C R T .
The B s w e e p time is not longer than the A s w e e p time.
If X - Y of the H O R I Z O N T A L MODE s w i t c h e s is select-
ed, A and B S W E E P TIME/DIV range displays disappear,
and instead C H 2 - X is displayed.
(32)
S W E E P VARIABLE Control
Fine adjustment of A s w e e p time and B s w e e p time.
This control provides continuous variation from low-
speed to high-speed s w e e p (Cross-Range Variable
Function).
It adjusts the A s w e e p time if A of the H O R I Z O N T A L
MODE s w i t c h e s (30) is selected, while adjusts B s w e e p
time if A INT B, A L T , or B of the H O R I Z O N T A L MODE
s w i t c h e s is selected. It does not function if X - Y is
selected.
In the U N C A L (ibration) condition, a " > " is displayed
just before A S W E E P T I M E / D I V display on the C R T , if
the V A R I A B L E control functions as the A S w e e p Vari-
able control (i.e., A of the H O R I Z O N T A L s w i t c h e s is
selected). L i k e w i s e , in the U N C A L condition, it is dis-
played before B S W E E P / D I V , if the V A R I A B L E functions
as the B S w e e p Variable control (i.e., A INT B, A L T ,
or B of the H O R I Z O N T A L s w i t c h e s is selected).
To change the U N C A L to CAL(ibration) condition, ro-
tate the S W E E P T I M E / D I V control © .
N O T E : Even if the A sweep is in the U N C A L condition,
changing setting of the HORIZONTAL MODE
switches from A into the delayed sweep mode (A
INT B, A L T , or B) automatically establishes the A
sweep in the C A L condition. The UNCAL condi-
tion can be restored by selecting A switch again.
Rapid rotation of this control knob may cause
improper operation. Rotate it slowly.
@
POSITION Control
Moves waveform in the horizontal direction for horizon-
tal position adjustment. Also adjusts the X - a x i s posi-
tion in the X - Y operation.
N O T E : Rapid rotation of this control knob may cause
improper operation. Rotate it slowly.
(g)
x 1 0 MAG Switch
Pressing the s w i t c h turns on the L E D and decuples the
s w e e p time. Another press of the s w i t c h turns off the
LED and restores the normal mode.
This s w i t c h has the following functions depending on
setting of the H O R I Z O N T A L MODE s w i t c h e s (§).
A :
A s w e e p only, x 10 M A G is selectable.
A INT B: x 10 M A G is not selectable.
A L T :
B s w e e p only, x 10 M A G is selectable.
B:
B s w e e p only, x 1 0 M A G is selectable.
X - Y :
x 10 M A G is not selectable.
N O T E : Under the condition where A , A L T , or B of the
H O R I Z O N T A L M O D E s w i t c h e s is selected and
the x 10 M A G is depressed, pressing A INT B
or X - Y establishes the normal mode automati-
cally. If A , A L T , or B is selected again, the x 10
M A G mode is restored.
(§)
A TRIGGERING S O U R C E (A SOURCE) Selector Switch
and LEDs
Selects a trigger source of A s w e e p . Every press of the
• s w i t c h advances a selected L E D from left to right in
sequence. Next to LINE, V E R T is selected. (A selected
LED advances at the interval of approx. 0 . 5 second by
keeping pressing the s w i t c h . )
NOTE: If V E R T is selected, any LED of C H 1 to C H 4 also
lights up (depending on setting of the V E R T I C A L
MODE s w i t c h e s © ) .
V E R T : Trigger source of A s w e e p is selected with the
V E R T I C A L MODE s w i t c h e s © . It is selected in
the following order of priority, if more than one
of the V E R T I C A L MODE s w i t c h e s is selected.
C H 1 -+ C H 2 -
N O T E : If A D D of the V E R T I C A L MODE switches
© is selected in the single trace mode,
C H 1 is displayed as A S O U R C E .
C H 1 :
A s w e e p is triggered by channel-1 vertical axis
input signal.
C H 2 :
A s w e e p is triggered by channel-2 vertical axis
input signal.
C H 3 :
A s w e e p is triggered by channel-3 vertical a x i s
input signal.
C H 4 :
A s w e e p is triggered by channel-4 vertical axis
input signal.
LINE:
Triggered by commercial frequency.
A COUPLING (§) switch is fixed to A C . If another
trigger source is selected, previous condition is
restored.
N O T E : If A C O U P L I N G (§) s w i t c h is set to T V
F R A M E or T V LINE, LINE of the
S O U R C E s w i t c h cannot be selected.
(§)
HOLD OFF Control
Adjusts the interval between s w e e p operations. Clock-
w i s e rotation from the NORM position, i.e., full coun-
terclockwise position, increases the hold-off time. Full
clockwise rotation provides variation more than five
times.
©
TRACE SEP(aration) Control
Counterclockwise rotation moves d o w n the B s w e e p
trace line by approx. 4 div. w i t h respect to the A s w e e p
trace line. T h i s control functions w h e n A L T or B of the
HORIZONTAL MODE s w i t c h e s @) is selected.
