[EXAMPLE]
In the example s h o w n in Fig. 5 4 , if A S W E E P T I M E / D I V
setting is 2 (is and B S W E E P TIME/DIV setting is 0.2 fis.

In the above delayed s w e e p magnification, raising the
apparent magnification will produce delayed jitters.
To obtain stable display, reset the selected A F T . D of
the B S O U R C E and carry out measurement in the trig-
ger mode (CH1 to C H 4 ) .
1)
Carry out adjustment in items 1) to 3) above.
2)
Reset A F T . D of the B S O U R C E . Set the B S O U R C E to
the same source signal as that of the A S O U R C E . A d -
just the B L E V E L to obtain stable display of the intensity-
modulated part.
3)
Select A L T or B of the H O R I Z O N T A L MODE s w i t c h e s .
The apparent magnification can be determined as men-
tioned in the above section.

16. MEASUREMENT OF DELAYED SWEEP TIME
Using the B s w e e p operation, time can be measured a c -
curately.
1)
Apply the signal to the input connector. Select the chan-
nel to be used with the V E R T I C A L M O D E . Adjust each
control for normal s w e e p display. Adjust the V O L T S /
DIV to obtain proper w a v e f o r m display. S e t the A
S W E E P T I M E to C A L .
2)
Adjust the A S W E E P T I M E / D I V to display the part to
be measured. Select A INT B of the H O R I Z O N T A L
MODE s w i t c h e s . Set the B S O U R C E s w i t c h to A F T . D .
T h e n , adjust the B S W E E P T I M E / D I V to minimize the
intensity-modulation
3)
Adjust the • POSITION so that the w a v e f o r m crosses
the center horizontal graduation line. Adjust the D E L A Y
POSITION so that the intensity-modulation part is in
contact with the center horizontal graduation line. Make
a record of a measured value following D E L A Y in the
upper right of the C R T .
4)
Adjust the D E L A Y POSITION so that the intensity-
modulation part coincides w i t h the same point on the
next w a v e f o r m .
Subtract the first measurement from the second meas-
urement to determine the period of the w a v e f o r m .
Period = 2nd measurement -

[EXAMPLE]
In the example s h o w n in Fig. 5 5 , if the first measure-
ment is 2 . 0 4 0 m s , the second measurement is 1 1 . 9 8 0
m s , and A S W E E P T I M E / D I V setting is 2 m s .
Period = 1 1 . 9 8 0 - 2 . 0 4 0 = 9 . 9 4 0 ms
