Adjusting the rear shock absorber

The rear shock absorber has adjusters that enable
you to suit the setting to the load on the motorcycle.
For rear shock absorber adjustment, follow the
description on "Customising Riding Mode: DSS
suspension setting".
For further details on the operating principle of the
rear shock absorber and the DSS (Ducati SkyHook
System) please refer to the "DSS" chapter.
Attention
The shock absorber is filled with gas under
pressure and may cause severe damage if taken
apart by unskilled persons.
When carrying a passenger and luggage, set the rear
shock absorber spring to proper preload to improve
motorcycle handling and keep safe clearance from
the ground. You may find that rebound damping
needs adjusting as well. The shock absorber is
adjusted by electric impulses sent by the instrument
panel to the adjusters inside the shock absorber
body.
