If the product cabinet is installed at a location with a clear view of the sky, the
antenna can be installed on the exterior of the cabinet. A ferromagnetic plate is
welded towards the top-right interior corner of the cabinet to allow the GPS
antenna to be magnetically mounted externally at this position as shown in Figure
5-35.

Although the antenna does not increase the likelihood of a lightning strike, the
surface itself must not be part of a structure that might potentially become a
lightning conductor.
▪
The GPS antenna is supplied with a 5 m (16.4 ft) cable.
